Introducing the Xaar 2002
The Xaar 2002 printhead incorporates the latest advancements in inkjet technology, delivering faster setup, easier installation, and reduced downtime. Designed with new alignment features and individually lasered nozzles, the Xaar 2002 ensures outstanding print uniformity, consistent drop formation, and improved colour density across the full print swathe.
Key Advantages
- Exceptional Print Quality – 720 dpi native resolution for sharp edges, crisp text, and smooth pattern definition.
- AcuChp™ Technology – Balanced actuator selection and chip trimming deliver uniform colour tone straight out of the box, with reduced density variation across printheads.
- Ultra High Laydown – Print at up to 240 g/m² for bold, vivid output across a wide range of applications.
- XaarDOT™ Variable Drop Sizes – From 6 pL to 400 pL, ensuring the perfect balance of detail and coverage.
- TF Technology® Ink Recirculation – Industry-leading ink recirculation prevents nozzle blockages, improves reliability, and extends open time.
Ease of Use
- Plug-and-Print Installation – Drop-in alignment with tight mechanical tolerances for quick and simple integration.
- Consistent Drop Volumes – Reliable performance from nozzle-to-nozzle, printhead-to-printhead, for repeatable results.
- Smooth Tones & Flat Tints – Precision nozzle lasering ensures uniform colour density across the print bar.
Serviceability
- Lower Total Cost of Ownership – Serviceable design allows flexible circuits, gaskets, and screws to be replaced using the Xaar 2002 service pack.
- Sustainable Repair Options – More heads can be recovered locally, reducing shipping, replacement costs, and downtime.
Customisation Options
- OEM Branding – Add your own logo or branding to the printhead for a more integrated solution.
- Flexible Integration – Designed for use across multiple applications and print system architectures.
Unrivalled printing capability with Xaar technology

TF Technology (Ink Recirculation)
- Principle: Utilizes a unique Hybrid Side Shooter architecture that allows fluid to flow directly past the back of the nozzle at very high speeds during drop ejection.
- Key Advantages:
- Effectively prevents sedimentation and nozzle blocking, particularly with heavily pigmented inks.
- Automatically flushes out air bubbles and unwanted particles from the fluid path.
- Delivers exceptional printing reliability in harsh industrial environments and ensures a trouble-free startup, even after extended periods of idle time.

High Laydown Technology
- Principle: Enables the deposition of large quantities of fluid in a single pass.
- Applications & Advantages:
- Packaging & Labels: Achieves high-build UV varnish tactile effects, Braille, and raised warning triangles in just one pass, completely eliminating the need for complex traditional screen printing.
- Ceramics: Delivers exceptional gloss and adhesive effects on high-speed production lines.
- 3D Printing (Additive Manufacturing): Significantly accelerates build rates, increases overall productivity, and supports a wider range of fluid materials to produce much tougher 3D parts than standard inkjet technologies.

Ultra High Viscosity Technology
- Principle: Breaks the traditional inkjet limitation of only handling 10-25 cP fluids. It can reliably jet ultra-high viscosity fluids up to 100 cP (when combined with High Laydown Technology).
- Applications & Advantages:
- Enhanced Visual Effects: Supports higher particle loading and larger particle sizes, drastically improving color gamut, opacity, and special effects on materials like ceramics and glass.
- Strengthened Material Properties: Capable of jetting higher molecular weight photopolymers, which increases the toughness and flexibility of printed materials for 3D printing and advanced manufacturing.
- Superior Edge Definition: Reduces spreading for sharper edges on non-porous substrates (like glass) and opens up the ability to print a wider variety of functional fluids, such as paints, adhesives, and solder masks.
