The pinch sensor board tells the cutter where the pinch rollers are and whether they are lowered onto the media. The machine uses this information to measure the media width and to make sure the material is clamped before cutting begins. When the board fails, the cutter may refuse to load media, report a pinch roller or media setting error, measure the wrong width or stop during initialisation even though the rollers are positioned correctly.
