The Mimaki E301102 is a long flexible flat cable (FFC), type FFC1.25-16-3600, used on the JV100-160 and UJV100-160 printers. Flat cables of this kind run through the cable guide between the main electronics and the carriage and move with the carriage on every pass, carrying data and control signals. Constant flexing, ink contamination and damage from incorrect insertion eventually break conductors inside the cable or wear the contacts.
