This is the Y-axis drive wire, WIRE,Y EGX-350, part number 1000003214, for the Roland EGX-350 desktop engraver. The EGX-350 moves its Y axis with a steel wire wound around a drive pulley, a simple and precise system as long as the wire is in good condition. This is a genuine, original Roland part – not a copy or compatible replacement.
With heavy use, the wire can stretch, lose tension or start to fray. When this happens, engraved text may appear stretched or compressed in the Y direction, lines may not meet where they should, the Y axis may slip during fast moves, or the axis may make jerky movements. A broken wire will stop the Y axis entirely. Installing a new wire with correct tension restores accurate Y travel.
