The Roland 22805433 (ASS’Y,G-ROLLER CX-500) is the grit roller assembly for the CAMM-1 GX-500 and CX-500 cutting plotters. The grit roller is the textured shaft that grips the underside of the media while the pinch rollers press it down from above, and it is what moves the material back and forth with high precision. This is a genuine, original Roland part – not a copy or compatible replacement.
After many years the abrasive surface of the grit roller wears smooth or becomes clogged with adhesive and debris, and the bearings can wear. The roller then loses its grip: media slips, long jobs track off to one side, repeated cuts no longer line up, shapes are distorted in the feed direction and the cutter may report media errors. Cleaning helps for a while, but a worn roller needs to be replaced to bring back reliable tracking.
