Original Roland SJ-745EX / SJ-645EX / SJ-740 / FJ-540 Print Carriage Board – W8119042C0

Part number W8119042C0 is the PRINT CARRIAGE BOARD ASSY for the classic Roland SOLJET SJ-540, SJ-640 and SJ-740, the SJ-545EX, SJ-645EX and SJ-745EX, and the Hi-Fi JET FJ-540 and FJ-740. These printers share the same carriage electronics, so one board covers the whole family. This is a genuine, original Roland part – not a copy or compatible replacement.

The carriage board receives print data from the main board and drives the print heads, as well as connecting the sensors on the carriage. As these machines age, carriage boards can fail through heat, worn connectors or a head short. Typical signs are head errors at power-up, a head that does not fire even after cleaning, random missing bands or noise in the print, and errors that come and go when the carriage cables move. A replacement board is often what keeps an older SOLJET in service.
