The Roland 6000003199 (ASSY,SCAN MOTOR SV CG1107) is the scan motor for the CAMM-1 GR series. It fits the GR-640, GR-540 and GR-420 and drives the cutting carriage across the full width of the machine at high speed. This is a genuine, original Roland part – not a copy or compatible replacement.
On a wide-format cutter the scan motor accelerates and stops the carriage thousands of times per job, so it is a part that eventually wears. Typical warning signs include a motor error that stops the cutter, a carriage that shakes or moves unevenly at speed, louder running noise than usual and cuts that are slightly off in the scan direction, such as overlapping start and end points. If the belt and cables check out, replacing the scan motor is the way to restore precise contour cutting.
