The Roland 22285503 (NUT,PEN HOLDER GX-24) is the nut used in the tool clamp that holds the blade holder or pen in place. The same part is found on a surprisingly wide range of machines, from CAMM-1 cutters such as the GS-24, GX-24 and GX-500 to VersaCAMM SP-300 and SP-540V, VersaUV LEC printer/cutters, the VersaStudio BN-20 and the EGX-30A engraver. When this nut is worn, cracked or missing, the bolt cannot clamp the holder tightly. The tool then shifts slightly while cutting, so lines look shaky, small text is distorted, cutting depth varies across a job and the holder can work loose altogether. Replacing the nut together with a new bolt is a quick, low-cost way to restore a rigid tool clamp.
