Original Roland RF-640 / RE-640 / RA-640 / VS-640i Scan Motor RE-640_01 – 6000002594

The ASSY,SCAN MOTOR RE-640_01 (part number 6000002594) is the carriage scan motor for the Roland VersaEXPRESS RF-640, RE-640, RA-640 and RT-640 printers and the VersaCAMM VS-300i, VS-540i and VS-640i printer/cutters. This is a genuine, original Roland part – not a copy or compatible replacement.

The scan motor moves the carriage across the media for every print pass, and on the VS-i models it also positions the cutting carriage. Because the RF-640 and VS-640i are often run for many hours a day, the motor eventually wears. Warning signs include carriage motor or servo errors, the carriage stopping, stuttering or knocking at the ends of travel, louder running noise, banding or bidirectional misalignment that persists after calibration, and contour cuts that no longer match the print. Replacing the motor brings back smooth, precise movement.
