Epson I3200-U1 Printhead Overview
This is a 1.33-inch Epson UV printhead designed for UV inks. It runs at 600 dpi and is widely used in UV printers.
The I3200-U1 is built on Epson’s PrecisionCore MicroTFP thin-film piezo platform. Its 3,200 nozzles sit in 8 rows at a 1/300-inch pitch, giving 300 npi per row and 600 npi across each pair of rows over an effective print width of 33.8 mm (1.33 in). Each of the up to 4 colors is fed by two nozzle rows.
In binary mode it fires 5 pl droplets at 43.2 kHz; in 3- and 4-level greyscale it varies the drop size between 3.8 and 12.5 pl at 21.6 kHz. The head is specified for UV-curable inks with a viscosity of 5–7 mPa·s, and the body measures 69.1 × 59.4 × 35.6 mm at 82 g.
