The Mimaki SPC-0382 is the pen line sponge, also called the cutting strip, for CG-160FX, CG-160FXII and CG-160FXII Plus cutting plotters. It sits in the platen under the path of the blade and pen, giving the blade a soft, even surface to cut against so it can cut through the vinyl without damaging the backing liner or the blade tip. It is supplied as a set of 2 pieces. This is a genuine, original Mimaki part – not a copy or compatible replacement.

The strip wears gradually as the blade runs along it. Signs that it should be replaced are grooves or cuts along the strip, cut lines that are incomplete in some areas, the blade cutting through the liner, uneven cutting depth across the width, and faster blade wear. A fresh strip helps restore consistent cut quality at the normal blade force.
