This is a genuine, original Roland part – not a copy or compatible replacement.
This small board sits behind the ink cartridge slots and makes contact with the chip on each cartridge, so the printer can read ink type, remaining level and expiry information. A damaged or corroded board leads to messages such as cartridge not installed or ink end even with a full cartridge, slots that are detected intermittently, or the printer refusing to start a print job.
