Roland ZSC-1 Overview
The Roland ZSC-1 is a scanning probe sensor for the MDX-40A and MDX-40 benchtop milling machines. Installed in place of the spindle tool, it lets the machine touch the surface of a model point by point and capture its shape as 3D data, so one machine can both scan and mill. This is a genuine, original Roland part – not a copy or compatible replacement.
The ZSC-1 uses a sensitive high-frequency contact probe. Over time the probe needle can be bent or broken, and a damaged sensor gives noisy or incomplete scans, fails to detect contact, or stops the scan with errors. A replacement sensor restores reliable scanning for reverse engineering, copying of models and quality inspection of small parts.
