This motor drives the grit roller shaft that pulls the media through the printer. Accurate feed is essential for banding-free prints and for print-and-cut jobs where the cutter must follow the printed contour. A failing feed motor can cause feed errors or motor errors, media that stops or slips, evenly spaced horizontal bands across the print, cut lines that drift out of register, and growling or clicking noises from the drive side.
