Original Roland XJ-740 / XC-540 / XR-640 / LEJ-640 / LEC-330 Scan Motor – 6700049030

The ASSY,SCAN MOTOR SJ-1045EX (part number 6700049030) is the carriage scan motor shared by many of Roland's larger printers: the SOLJET PRO III XJ-540, XJ-640, XJ-740 and XC-540 / XC-540W, the SOLJET PRO 4 XR-640, the SJ-1000 and SJ-1045EX, the AJ-740 / AJ-740i and AJ-1000 / AJ-1000i, the FH-740 and FP-740, and the VersaUV LEC-300, LEC-300A, LEC-330, LEC-540 and LEJ-640. This is a genuine, original Roland part – not a copy or compatible replacement.

The scan motor pulls the print carriage across the media on every pass, and its encoder tells the controller exactly where the heads are. When the motor wears, it may overheat, become noisy or lose torque. Symptoms include carriage motor or servo errors, the carriage stopping or shaking during printing, banding and bidirectional misalignment that calibration does not fix, and a burning or hot smell after long jobs.
