The gold DX4 printhead (part number 6000005180), also known as the “coated” or “gold” DX4 head, is a special version of the Epson DX4 built for UV-based printing. Its protective coating resists UV inks far better than the standard DX4, giving it a longer lifespan on UV machines.

Important compatibility notes:
- VersaUV printers with firmware 1.4 or higher require the gold DX4 (6000005180) — the standard DX4 (6000005213) will not work on these.
- The gold DX4 can replace a standard DX4 on any Roland printer, as long as the original head ID is used.
- All printheads in the same machine must be identical — mixing standard and gold heads will not work.
