Overview
The StarFire SG1024/MA-2C is an industrial piezo inkjet printhead from FUJIFILM Dimatix. It’s built for high-speed scanning and single-pass industrial printing setups. The design is compact, tough, and easy to service, and it uses proven materials that keep the output steady and consistent over a long working life. You’ll find it used in textile printing, wide-format graphics, commercial printing, and all kinds of decorative work. This model runs two colors and prints at up to 200 dpi.

How It’s Built
The printhead has 1024 nozzles total, split into two separate ink paths, with 512 independent channels each, laid out in four rows on a single nozzle plate. You can fire all the nozzles at once or one at a time. The nozzle plate is coated metal and held in place with a collar. It stands up well to wear and damage, and you can take the whole plate off to clean or replace it, so upkeep is simple.

Key Features
It comes with VersaDrop grayscale jetting, so you can switch between binary and grayscale modes. Drop size goes up to 80 picoliters, and you get full grayscale without giving up any speed. The RediJet system keeps ink circulating at the nozzles and the refill chamber, which keeps the nozzles open longer, cuts downtime, and makes startup smoother. That’s a big help with heavily pigmented and fast-drying inks. Priming is quick with very little ink wasted, so you spend less time and money on maintenance. There’s also a built-in heater and thermistor that lets you dial in ink viscosity precisely, up to 55°C.

Connections
On the electrical side, there’s a single 60-pin connector on top that handles power, ground, data, control signals, and the fire pulse. Each color channel has two fluid ports that connect to your ink supply through Luer fittings, which makes priming, flushing, and continuous circulation easy. Accurate alignment points let you drop the head into place fast, so you can line up several heads into a print bar for wider, higher-resolution, multi-color printing.
