What “MHB” means

The KM1024 series comes in a few different versions (like MHB, MNB, LHB, and iLHB). The main differences are droplet size and which inks they work with. MHB is basically the version with a medium droplet range that handles both UV and solvent inks. The “14PL” refers to the droplet size — it’s one of several common options. There are bigger ones too, like 30PL and 42PL. The bigger the droplet, the faster you can cover an area, but you lose some precision.

The KM1024 MH printhead from Konica Minolta, also referred to as the KM1024 MHB, is a robust shear-mode piezoelectric drop-on-demand head. It comes with an integrated heater, which makes it particularly suitable for UV ink applications, while still being compatible with solvent inks.

This model is capable of operating in binary mode as well as 8-level grayscale mode, allowing for variable droplet sizes. As a result, it delivers enhanced image quality without the need for multiple printheads. When compared with the earlier KM512 series, the KM1024 MH provides twice the print width and supports double the grayscale levels.

Unlike many competing printheads, Konica Minolta piezoelectric technology runs at a lower drive voltage. In addition, the newly developed actuator in the KM1024 series further reduces energy consumption, ensuring both high performance and efficiency.

Each unit is an authentic Konica Minolta original, shipped with a unique printhead ID and the required waveform data.
