The Mimaki SWJ-320 GEN5 printhead (part number M022650) is an original printhead assembly made for Mimaki SWJ-320 series printers. It’s built on the Ricoh GEN5 design (the MH5420/MH5440 type) and comes as a complete printhead unit supplied by Mimaki. One thing worth knowing: M022650 is the newer part number that replaces the older M012639 — they’re the same product, just an old-to-new swap.

Unlike a bare printhead on its own, the M022650 comes as a full assembly (Assy). Right out of the box, it already includes the ink tubes, valves, ink connectors, and mounting brackets, so it’s ready to install as one piece.

As for the specs: the product model is labeled PRH-MIM-005. It measures roughly 89 × 25 × 69 mm (not counting the cables). The head body is made from stainless steel, nickel alloy, and epoxy adhesive, and the nozzle plate has a coated surface for better durability. The nozzles are laid out in 4 rows of 320 each — 1,280 nozzles in total — with a nozzle spacing of 0.1693 mm and a top nozzle density of up to 600 npi. It uses piezo (Piezo) technology, which makes it great for high-precision printing with solvent inks and some UV inks.

Because the Ricoh GEN5 is a widely used printhead, this same series (each machine has its own Mimaki part number) also shows up in plenty of other models, including the YG500, TX500, TS500, UJV500, JFX500, JV400-SUV, and JV400-LX. That said, the assembly part numbers and configurations differ from machine to machine, so always double-check the exact model before buying to make sure you don’t end up with the wrong one.
