The Mimaki M517361 linear scale (linear encoder scale) is the strip that runs along the carriage path of CJV150, CJV300, UCJV150 and UCJV300 printers. An encoder sensor on the carriage reads the fine marks on the scale, so the printer always knows the exact carriage position and can fire the nozzles at the right moment. This is a genuine, original Mimaki part – not a copy or compatible replacement.
Replace the encoder scale when it is scratched, bent, stretched or contaminated with ink that cannot be cleaned off. Typical symptoms are vertical banding or blurred images in some areas of the print, bidirectional misalignment, carriage position errors, or the carriage stopping in the middle of a job.
