Original Mimaki UJF-3042MkII2 / UJF-6042MkII2 Cap Support Rubber – M021406

The M021406 cap support rubber is a rubber element in the capping station of Mimaki UJF MkII UV flatbed printers: the UJF-3042MkII, UJF-3042MkII EX, UJF-6042MkII e and UJF-3042MkII EX e (listed by Mimaki as UJF-30Mk2, 30Mk2EX, 60Mk2e and 30Mk2EXe). It supports the caps and gives them a slight flexibility, so that each cap presses evenly against the nozzle plate when the carriage returns to the home position. This is a genuine, original Mimaki part – not a copy or compatible replacement.

With time and exposure to UV ink, the rubber hardens, cracks or deforms. The caps then no longer sit flat on the heads, so the seal is lost. This leads to weak suction during cleaning, nozzles that dry out when the printer is idle, more missing nozzles each morning and more ink used for cleaning. Replacing the support rubber, often together with the caps, restores a tight and even capping seal.
