During every cleaning cycle the wiper blade sweeps across the print head to remove ink, dust and fibres from the nozzle plate. This motor moves the wiper into position and back. If it stalls or weakens, the wiper may not reach the head, cleanings leave smears or droplets behind, nozzles keep dropping out after cleaning, and the printer may display a wiper or motor error during start-up. Since desktop printers are cleaned frequently, a reliable wiper motor is essential for consistent output.
