Part number 7811909010, ASSY,SCAN MOTOR 2 FJ-540, is the carriage scan motor for the Roland SOLJET SJ-545EX, SJ-645EX and SJ-745EX, the SC-545EX printer/cutter and the Hi-Fi JET FJ-740. It is the new part number Roland introduced to replace the original scan motor 22805580 (ASSY,SCAN MOTOR FJ-540). This is a genuine, original Roland part – not a copy or compatible replacement.

The scan motor drives the carriage belt that carries the print heads across the media. On these large, heavy-carriage SOLJET machines the motor works hard, and after many years the bearings and encoder wear. Typical warning signs include carriage motor or servo errors, the carriage hesitating or stopping mid-pass, a burning smell, louder running noise, and bidirectional misalignment or banding that calibration no longer fixes.
