Roland ZS-500T Overview
The ZS-500T is the modeling spindle unit for the Roland MDX-500 milling machine. It is the spindle used for everyday 3D modeling and prototyping work, holding the cutting tool and turning it accurately at the speed set on the machine. This is a genuine, original Roland part – not a copy or compatible replacement.
After years of use, the bearings in a spindle unit wear and lose their precision. Signs that the ZS-500T needs replacing include a whining or rumbling noise, a spindle housing that gets hot, visible wobble of the tool, poor surface finish, tools that break easily and dimensions that are no longer accurate. A worn spindle can also damage collets and tools, so it pays to replace it early.
