This wiper scraper, Roland part number 21375107 (WIPER,SCRAPER FJ-540), is used on a long list of classic Roland printers: the SOLJET SJ-540, SJ-640, SJ-740 and SJ-1045EX, the FJ-540, the FP-740, the SC-545EX printer/cutter and the VersaCAMM SP-300V and SP-540V. The scraper removes the ink collected on the head wiper each time the wiper returns from cleaning the nozzle plate. When the scraper edge wears down or becomes caked with dried ink, the wiper stays dirty and pushes ink back onto the print heads – a common cause of smears, deflected nozzles and missing nozzles that will not clear.
