The Ricoh Gen5 MH5420 is a genuine, Japanese-made industrial piezo printhead, and this version is built specifically for water-based (aqueous) inks. It is identified by the current Ricoh part number J36002, which replaces the earlier code N221414P — the two refer to the same short-cable aqueous head, so if your machine’s documentation lists the older N221414P, this is its direct successor. The 248mm cable assembly keeps the wiring compact, making it well suited to printers where the head sits close to the drive board.
Because it is engineered for aqueous chemistry rather than UV or solvent inks, this head is a natural fit for water-based production such as textile and soft-signage printing, where vivid colour and fine detail on fabric and flexible media matter most.
