Ricoh GEN6 MH5320 Industrial Inkjet Printhead (2-Colour Head)

The Ricoh GEN6 MH5320 is a high-resolution printhead built for fast industrial printing. With smaller drops, a higher firing frequency, and support for more ink types, it’s a solid upgrade over the older MH5420/5440 and MH5421/5441. The MH5320 is the 2-colour head — if you need a 4-colour setup, go with the MH5340 in the same series. Either way, both work reliably across UV flatbed, roll-to-roll, solvent, and water-based ink systems.

Sharp, clean prints

The MH5320 packs 1,280 nozzles laid out in 4 × 320 channels, so you get crisp printing up to 600dpi. In binary mode, drops go as small as 5pl, and in greyscale mode you get variable drops from 5 to 15pl — that means smoother gradients and richer detail. Compared to the older heads with around 7pl minimum drops, this one improves both drop flight speed and nozzle accuracy, so prints come out basically grain-free.

Faster output, more productivity

With a firing frequency up to 50kHz (3-level greyscale), the MH5320 lays down a lot more ink per second. That lets you hit the same quality with fewer passes — at the same resolution, it cuts print time roughly in half compared to the previous generation. You get more output, and it also takes some pressure off carriage speed and control design.

Works with three ink types, easier to stock

The MH5320 handles UV, solvent, and water-based inks all in one head, so you don’t need separate heads for different inks. Its water-based ink compatibility and lifespan are more than double the older MH5421 — meaning longer, more cost-effective runs.

Tough and easy to install

The head is built from stainless steel (SST), nickel alloy, and epoxy adhesive, with a coated nozzle plate, so it holds up well in demanding print environments. A built-in heater and thermistor keep the temperature steady, so the ink fires at its best. The new surface-based alignment method makes positioning more accurate and swapping heads simple. And besides the official cables, you can spec your own cable to fit your setup.
