Kyocera KJ4B-0300 MS Printhead Overview
The Kyocera KJ4B-0300 is an industrial-grade printhead built for high-speed, single-pass printing. Developed specifically for equipment running water-based inks, it is widely used in digital textile printing and direct-to-fabric applications. The unit features an internal filtering structure that keeps particles and contaminants from reaching the nozzle plate, along with a built-in heating module that holds the ink at a stable temperature during operation. Together these allow it to maintain reliable ink ejection even at high running speeds.
This model comes in three versions that are not interchangeable, so be sure to match the one your equipment requires: a standard version for printers other than MS and EFI Reggiani, an MS version that includes the head cable specific to MS machines, and a Reggiani version that includes the cable for Reggiani machines. The unit described here is the MS printer version, supplied with the cable required for MS equipment. We recommend replacing the head cable when installing a new printhead to ensure a stable connection.
One point worth noting: different suppliers list some parameters differently, so we suggest confirming the exact figures with Kyocera or an authorized distributor before making a selection. For resolution, some sources list 300 dpi (two-color), while others cite 600 dpi or 300 × 600 dpi. For print width and speed, one configuration is given as a 112 mm swathe at up to 120 m/min, and another as a 108.25 mm swathe at up to 75 m/min, which may correspond to different print modes or versions. As for drop volume, beyond the 5-picoliter minimum, some material also lists additional options such as 7, 12, and 18 picoliters.
