Kyocera KJ4B-QL (Standard) Water-Based Printhead
The KJ4B-QL is an industrial-grade piezoelectric inkjet printhead from Kyocera’s KJ4B series, developed for high-speed printing with water-based inks. It is widely used in digital textile printing and other multi-pass printing applications. Each printhead integrates 2,656 nozzles across a print width of 108.25 mm, with a nozzle pitch of 0.042 mm and a standard resolution of 600 × 600 dpi. This combination delivers sharp output together with broad coverage, allowing a single head to handle a relatively wide print swathe.
In terms of jetting performance, the KJ4B-QL supports four variable drop sizes of 5, 7, 12, and 18 picoliters, with a maximum drive frequency of 30 kHz and up to 30,000 drops ejected per second. It reaches a maximum print speed of around 75 m/min and is suited to water-based inks with a viscosity range of 5.0–6.0 mPa·s.
Structurally, the printhead features built-in filters that capture particles in the ink and keep them from reaching the nozzles and affecting jetting, along with an internal heater that compensates for external temperature fluctuations to maintain stable performance. Combined with an optimized ink-channel design, it supplies ink continuously and evenly to all nozzles, reducing non-jetting and sustaining stable output during long, continuous print runs.
Version notes: The KJ4B-QL comes in several versions tailored to different printer brands (such as Standard, MS, and EFI Reggiani). Each version uses a different head cable and the versions are not interchangeable. The Standard version is primarily compatible with Aeoon, Atexco, and similar machines. Before ordering, be sure to confirm the correct version based on your printer model, and verify that the model matches before installation upon receipt.
