The Kyocera KJ4B-0300 is an industrial-grade piezoelectric printhead developed by Kyocera, designed primarily for high-speed single-pass printing applications. Built to work with water-based inks, it is widely used in digital textile and direct-to-fabric printing. The printhead delivers crisp, detailed output while sustaining production-level speeds, making it well suited to industrial environments where both efficiency and image quality matter.
The printhead is equipped with 2,656 nozzles arranged across two channels in a 1,328 × 2 configuration, with a nozzle pitch of approximately 0.042 mm. Its native nozzle resolution is 300 dpi, though some suppliers list it as 600 dpi due to interleaved nozzle arrangement or effective output. The maximum drive frequency reaches 30 kHz, firing roughly 30,000 drops per second, with a minimum drop volume of 5 picoliters and support for multiple variable drop sizes. The print width is around 112 mm, with figures from different sources ranging between 108 and 112 mm.
In terms of construction, the printhead integrates internal filters that block particles and prevent them from reaching the nozzle plate, along with a built-in heater that stabilizes ink temperature to ensure consistent performance during extended operation. The unit measures approximately 200 × 36 × 68.5 mm and weighs about 540 g dry.
It is worth noting that the KJ4B-0300 comes in three versions, each corresponding to a different printer platform. The Standard version fits machines other than MS and EFI Reggiani; the MS version ships with its dedicated head cable; and the EFI Reggiani version likewise includes a dedicated head cable. The three versions are not interchangeable, so it is essential to confirm the correct model based on your equipment before purchasing.
Regarding compatibility, the Standard version supports printers including the Printerevolution T1800, T2600, and T3200 series, as well as the FabriVu 340, Hanway Highjet 2500B, and EFI Reggiani BLAZE, among other direct-to-textile machines.
