The Kyocera KJ4A-AL/AA is an industrial piezoelectric printhead built with precision MEMS manufacturing technology. The KJ4A-AL is the renamed version of the KJ4A-AA, and the two are essentially the same product. This printhead is engineered for UV-curable inks and other high-viscosity inks, making it well suited for single-pass, high-speed industrial printing applications such as label and packaging printing, sign graphics, product decoration, and offset surprint.

In terms of performance, the printhead features a total of 2,656 nozzles, with approximately 2,558 active nozzles, and a standard resolution of 600×600 dpi. Its effective print width reaches 108.25 mm, allowing wide-format output with fewer printheads and simplifying installation alignment and tubing and wiring layout. It offers a maximum drive frequency of 20 kHz and a top print speed of 50 m/min, with a minimum drop size of around 3 picoliters. Multi-level grayscale control delivers smooth tonal transitions while rendering sharp image detail. The optimal ink viscosity range is 6.0 to 7.0 mPa·s.

In terms of construction, the printhead incorporates a built-in filter to capture foreign particles in the ink and a built-in heater to compensate for the effects of ambient temperature changes on jetting. Its unique ink channel design ensures a stable ink supply, keeping all nozzles firing consistently and effectively reducing nozzle dropout during continuous operation.

The printhead measures approximately 200×25×59.3 mm and weighs around 420 g, and is compatible with UV and other high-viscosity inks. It works with equipment such as the Dilli NEO SUN HB 2504D-W2XL and NEO SUN HB 2504 D-DXL. A full model code example is KJ4A-AA06ATZ-DL1V-4A, with different suffixes corresponding to different interface and configuration versions.
