Kyocera KJ4A-TA Printhead Overview
The Kyocera KJ4A-TA is an industrial-grade inkjet printhead engineered for high-quality output, developed specifically for UV-curable inks and other high-viscosity fluids. Its full part number is typically listed as KJ4A-TAO6ATB. As a 600dpi single-color printhead with a maximum drive frequency of 20kHz, it delivers consistently stable jetting performance and is widely used in label and packaging printing, sign graphics, and offset surprint applications.
Structurally, the printhead features 2,656 nozzles spread across an effective print width of 108.25mm, with a tight nozzle pitch of just 0.042mm, producing roughly 30,000 drops per second. Notably, its single-head print width approaches the combined coverage of two Ricoh GEN5 heads, which means a machine can cover the same printing range with fewer heads — helping reduce the overall printhead cost of a UV printing system.
Internally, the head incorporates a built-in filter that blocks particle contaminants in the ink, along with an integrated heater that offsets the impact of ambient temperature changes on jetting stability. Combined with its uniquely designed ink channel, it maintains a smooth and continuous ink supply throughout operation.
