The Mimaki E301099 encoder strip is the linear scale that runs along the carriage path of the JV300, JV150, CJV150 and CJV300 printers. The encoder sensor on the carriage reads the fine marks on the strip, so the printer knows the exact carriage position and can fire the printheads at the right moment. This is a genuine, original Mimaki part – not a copy or compatible replacement.

Ink mist, dust, scratches or a kinked strip interrupt the signal. Typical symptoms are encoder or Y-axis errors, the carriage stopping in the middle of a pass, blurred or doubled images, misalignment between print directions, and vertical lines or bands at fixed positions. If cleaning the strip carefully does not solve the problem, or the strip is scratched or bent, replace it with the original part to restore accurate positioning.
