The Ricoh GEN6 MH5340 is a high-resolution 4-colour printhead designed for fast industrial colour printing. A single head handles full 4-colour output, making it an ideal choice for high-volume colour production lines. As an advanced upgrade to the MH5420/5440 and MH5421/5441, the MH5340 delivers across-the-board improvements in drop precision, firing speed, and ink versatility. If you only need a 2-colour setup, you can go with the MH5320 in the same series. Whether it’s UV flatbed, roll-to-roll, solvent, or water-based ink systems, the MH5340 handles them all reliably.

Four colours in one head, richer output

The MH5340 is equipped with 1,280 nozzles arranged in 4 × 320 channels, so a single head carries all four colours — no complex multi-head alignment required. Print precision up to 600dpi, paired with fine 5pl drops (binary mode) and variable 5–15pl greyscale drops, delivers natural colour transitions, sharp detail, and clean, grain-free images. Compared with the previous generation’s roughly 7pl minimum drop, both drop flight stability and landing accuracy are improved, taking image quality to the next level.

High-speed jetting, stronger throughput

With a firing frequency up to 50kHz (3-level greyscale), the MH5340 lays down more ink per unit of time, achieving the desired quality in fewer passes. At the same resolution, print efficiency roughly doubles compared to the previous generation, shortening job cycles while easing the design demands on carriage speed and motion control — a better fit for continuous, large-scale colour production.

Compatible with three ink types, more flexible applications

The MH5340 supports UV, solvent, and water-based inks all at once, so a single printhead covers a range of ink needs and simplifies spare-parts management. Its water-based ink compatibility and service life are more than double those of the previous MH5441, meaning more durable long-term operation and lower overall running costs.

Solid build, easy maintenance

The head body is made from stainless steel (SST), nickel alloy, and epoxy adhesive, with a coated nozzle plate that withstands demanding industrial printing conditions. A built-in heater and thermistor provide precise temperature control, keeping the ink in its optimal jetting state at all times.
